Rebuild floor and sills

Post by Drcushy58victor »

Hi Daniel Cush here ,
i have purchased a Morris Minor van 1958 it has been sitting in the shed now for probably 8 months and i need to start the rebuild job ..
the Cabin floor and door sills are shot .( The chassie / frame seems to be good ) I need to purchase some new floor pans and sills to suit .
I do have another 4 door as a donar car but its not in the best order either . the fire wall is good and the panel around the windscreen is also good ...

To get the floor panels and sills ? has any one had good or bad experience from any supplier ..
I was going to.....
-strip the van back to see what i have to deal with ( Sand blast )..
- Take photos of the issues
-send the photos to Charles wares or a different supplier In the UK ??
- see what the cost is ...
I figure from a guide , i an going to be up for about $1000 Australian + postage ???
any feed back please
Cush

Hi Daniel
Although I have no first hand experience as I don’t weld, I have heard from several folks that Andrew Eggleton does the best quality panels. He is at https://www.morrisminorspareparts.com/
Cheers Dave

Hi Daniel,

I agree with Dave, Andrew Eggleton makes and supplies excellent quality LCV repair panels, as does ESM https://www.morrisminorspares.com/. Those 2 suppliers are by far the best quality and price.

I didn’t realise those companies actually made their own panels.

By far the worst panel I’ve ever bought was the repair section for the bottom of the ‘B’ post.
