feeling better

Post by moggybrian »

Hello gang,
sorry........that's all I ever seem to say isn't it
but I have been absent due to catching the dreaded lurgy
for 2 month's NOT recommended as a diet plan either
lost stone and a half in two weeks and felt bloody awful!!!!
never been hit by a truck but I can imagine that is how it must feel
2 jab's masked up everywhere and kept away from crowds
and people in general for nearly 2 yrs and got it...
...it is dangerous out there believe me I now know it
now all I have to build strength back up asap
lot's to do before winter sets in
but to make me feel better and to get my enthusiasm back
Chris has bought me my dream motor as a surprise!!??
no, and forget Jaguar's (got one)
R-R no been there and done it as a job
& not a Bentley either
but did have a 5 litre Lagonda,
no only a 1968 Morris Minor Pick-Up. 'WOW'
but the reason for this diatribe is to ask you all a favour.....
.....not again I hear you say...well 2 actually!
Firstly does anyone know the where abouts of Roy & Carol Battison?
I sent them a renewal form to "Moor Copse "
and it came back yesterday as 'gone away'
so I need to know if they still want to be Members?

if you know them would you mind asking them to get in touch please!!

secondly you all know it's a big mail when I eventually 'come back' right

for the p-u I need 2 late 8cwt four and a half J wheels and wait for it!
a tailboard at not too ridiculous price some repairs to be made is acceptable
that's it for now,
keep well and do not forget
it is dangerous out there.
Love and peace,
Brian,
LCVReg'
treasurer. 8-)

Brian so glad to hear you're on the mend. I caught it in Jan before vaccinations - It is a nasty virus that can hang about so take care and don't expect to get back to normal energy levels for a while.

New pick up - what a wonderful tonic. Hope you source the parts needed soon so you can enjoy it.

thanks for the get well wishes guys,
I have made new wooden floors for the cargo area
varnished and drilled ready to be fitted
at present it has marine ply sides as you will see soon!!??
on Friday we fetched an original tub
for the project to start next year
when the other vehicles in the fleet have taken their turn
it is road legal but will be used sparingly
also I have been treated to a tilt
and fetched some hoops from MMOC Derby, they were very welcoming.
not going there again!! (Derby....... not the MMOC)
and have aquired all the hoop fittings thanks to Keith Abercrombie
so it is going to be busy busy
as Garfy is coming back ready to go to the chateau "coffee & Chrome" on the 26th
then onto the NEC stand in November
just got to get energy levelsback up to make it all happen.
Warm Regards,
Brian. 8-)

Congratulations Brian on your survival and acquisition. Maybe pictures would help boost interest and participation? I'm still looking for a replacement for MMPU. I've lowered my expectations and am looking at '70s thru early '90s domestic or Japaneese small pickups but even these more modern vehicles don't seem to exist here in the northeast. All of the newer products are much too large. The new Ford Maverick ( maybe Courier over there?) looks like a little SUV with a tiny open box. More of a people rather than stuff mover.

Hi Brian, do you mean Andy & Carol Battison? I believe they now live in Spain.
