Excellent Keith, and as the Queen Mother once said it’s attention to detail that makes a big difference. Are those factory van door frames..or shotblasted stainless??! And what is the finish? Frilford, Tweed, or Smoke grey?

Nice job! :)

I was very fortunate that the van was completely original with its original MM registration number, registered in Middlesex. Last on the road in 1986.

What wasn’t so fortunate was that the previous keeper of 30 years+ kept it outside and regularly cleaned it using a power washer, so you can imagine what the rust was like. I am writing up the restoration for the magazine, there were a lot of challenges.

The colour is Yukon Grey, its original colour. The door frames are the original painted versions.

I am very pleased how it turned out, I had lots of very positive comments on the register stand at the NEC.

My next project is to start the restoration of my 53 fixed quarter light van, but not until mid next year, I need a rest!.
