hi all,

i have obtained a pick up, which has been made from a 6cwt austin van. it has a marina 1275 engine and gearbox, ford escort mk3 front disks and a wooden pick up back. it also seems to have recaro seats, which are too big for the cab and do not move.

i am planning to restore it over a few years to make a vehicle i can use every day. i want it to eventually have a 5 speed gearbox, electronic ignition, alloy wheels, better wipers, better headlights, etc. the pick up body has wooden sides and tailgate, which have been painted black and i want to replace with better wood that i can varnish.

it needs loads of work, and i plan starting with a chassis. which one should i buy?
i have been given a link to this one; http://www.unseenprojects.com/unseenpro ... assis.html apparently a longer version can be built.

any suggestions about my plans are welcome, especially choice of chassis. i am happy to buy things now and store them for later use.

regards

sean

I believe Alex Willis is the chap who makes these chassis and who you contact at the 'unseenprojects' website.

If you check his website you will see under 'Minor Commercial' heading this article (which I remember reading) -

Oh right. The unseenprojects had already been suggested so when the Alex Wills chassis was mentioned I naturally thought this was another outlet. Maybe Brian didn't realise they were the same people when he posted.

Just noticed this advert on the MMO site for a new, unused, un-modified chassis by Alex Wills if it's of interest?

https://www.morrisminorowners.co.uk//vi ... ce#p142740

(but it is pick up from Glasgow)
