Hi everyone,
I'm as much to blame as anyone,I,to my shame, haven't been on the forum since last December, no excuses!! So have made a resolution to be more active. I will hopefully get the van back soon, when I called in 10 days ago one side was down to bare metal, with metal areas replaced.Once it is back I will finish off the interior.I will remove the wheels and tyres and have the wheels powder coated. At this point can someone tell me whether the wheels should be coloured in silver, white or cream. Many thanks..........................starider :)

:D Good to hear your van is progressing (from your other posts it seems you are very busy with other projects too!). Sorry wouldn't know what finish the wheels are supposed to have, though I suspect cream.

From what I gather and I could obviously be wrong, the vans had silver wheels, front bumper and grill.

One of my Minor coupes years ago came with a white, black, red, and green wheel. The red and green were obvious repaints, the white and black not so. Most of my Minor cars had off white wheels. Don't remember any of them being silver but most all of my other British cars had silver/grey wheels. Were they all made by Dunlop? Was there a standard paint code?
I have a chrome bumper. Where all the LCV bumpers painted? That would save the trouble of getting it rechromed. Don't have a valence panel behind the bumper either so I assume both were lost in a minor crash at some point and along with the hood (bonnet) replaced with car parts. The missing valence makes it easier to tie stuff down on the roof. Probably won't replace it.

Hi,
Thanks for the info. I had it in my mind they should be silver. I seem to remember the Austin Van when new came with the wider wheels in silver. So that's the colour they will be......................starider ;)
